After having Liyaana, I was the heaviest I’ve ever been (and the unhappiest). With a rebelling toddler, a newborn, PND, anxiety, a death in the family and other personal issues – things could only go one of two different ways. I decided to take control of my life and my happiness.
The first photo was taken 1 month after Liyaana was born. The second photo is 4 months after she was born.
I’m not at my goal weight yet – my body has hit the pause button – but I will not give up. I will keep going, keep making healthy decisions and keep exercising because I have 2 daughters looking up to me and learning from what I do.
My advice – start TODAY! Don’t wait for next week or Monday or a New Years resolution – start your journey today. You will thank yourself in a week, a month, a year!

Pic 2 is my wedding day May 2015. Weighing in at 71kg. A massive 20kg down. I felt amazing and the dress (I can assure you) was completely zipped up lol.
So another year on.. I’m sitting around 73kg and still aiming for another 8kg loss to be down to 65kg. But most of all I’m aiming for health and happiness. From the inside out.

My daughter was 15 months old when we said I do and I wasn’t at my heaviest either – so I was truly taken aback and amazed with what I was seeing in the mirror… my first reaction was sad but then it made me sit back and reflect on what I have achieved in the last 18 months following lbw and how I am honestly the fittest and healthiest I’ve been in my adult life so far!
