Hi, I’m Brooke and very excited to be chosen as one of this month’s Winter Warrior Motivating Mums!!!
I am 34, have a wonderful supportive husband and a little boy who has recently turned TWO (Eeek!) and I work full time… So it’s a busy life for us!!
With chronic depression and bad eating and drinking habits, I started 2016 unfit and unhealthy and I knew that I had to make a change. Not only for my family, but for ME too.
In mid-Feb my cousin introduced me to The Healthy Mummy FB Group and I started off by using the free recipes (which there are hundreds). I then became my local pages “Fresh Start Mum” in March and this was my first introduction to the 28 day weight loss challenges. After the second week, I was hooked!!
I got every flavour of the smoothies and really went into it with guns blazing. Once the March Challenge completed, I immediately signed up for more challenges. Fast forward to today and I’ve lost 57cm since March and no longer on medication for my depression!!
Even my husband is at his lowest weight since High School!!!
We are both full of so much energy and really happy with life. Hoping to expand our little family further, and know that our new healthy lifestyle will help with that.
It hasn’t all come easy and I’ve had to work hard for this loss! Portions were our downfall as well as pasta, alcohol and take out. But the variety of the meals the challenges and free recipes bring, means no more boring pasta or meat & veg every night. The portions are incredible and even hubby has commented on how could this be possibly healthy.
I have become a lover of running and recently joined a gym to increase my fitness and my BIGGEST goal is to run the 10km Bridge to Brisbane in August in memory of my dad!
I look forward to trying to share some of my hints and tips with you all. I’m excited to be accountable for my own actions during this hard month, as well as keep everyone motivated during the cold change. Lets make July OUR best month yet!!!
HM Starting weight: 80.6kg
Current weight: 68.8kg
GOAL: 65kg + run 10km in close to 1hr 🙂
Love Brooke xxx
