Beth has been following the Lose Baby Weight healthy eating diet plans and 28 Day Challenges for over 6 months and has lost 22kgs.
She has learnt how important it is to be kind to yourself and put yourself first every now and then as this in turn leads to a happy you and therefore a happy family.
Hello Beautiful Mummas,
I wanted to share with you how I’m going on my weightloss journey with Lose Baby Weight because I feel that there are some of you out there that might take comfort in reading my update.
best_ways_to_lose_weightIn the six months since changing my lifestyle and following the Lose Baby Weight plans, I have lost 22kgs. When I started in June 2014, I weighed in at 99.1kgs. But more than that, I really didn’t like myself or how I looked. So I made a decision to change it all, not just for me but for my family also.
And as much as it wasn’t a walk in the park, it wasn’t hard because I knew it would take time. I knew it wasn’t going to happen overnight. I didn’t set myself goals, all I knew was I wanted to lose 30kgs and become fit and healthy. So that’s what I’m doing. I eat healthy foods, Lose Baby Weight has an abundance of recipes and resources I can use to do this. But I have also learnt about balance.
Over Christmas and due to a mental breakdown after getting sick, I realised I had to take a step back and let my body play catch up. I worked on maintaining my weight by eating the correct calories and exercising. I enjoyed myself but didn’t go crazy. I relaxed but didn’t throw in the towel. I realised that Lose Baby Weight had taught me how to balance between healthy eating but still being able to enjoy myself. Not once did I feel guilty after I had a drink or something festive to eat. I realised I am human and that it wasn’t the end of the world.
I have also learnt to love exercising.  I’m not a sports fanatic, but I now love to exercise and how it makes me feel. Also how my body is changing as I get fitter and tone up.
Following the Lose Baby Weight plans and doing each 28 Day Challenge since then, I have not only lost weight, I have found a new respect for myself. Something that I have honestly never had. It hasn’t been easy, but it has at least happened.
healthy_eating_diet_plansUp until recently I still looked in the mirror and saw the 99.1kg version of myself. It didn’t matter how much weight I lost or how many people complimented me, I just couldn’t see it. But then I finally did and I have never felt prouder. I was walking in the shops when I caught my reflection in a window and was shocked. There I was, the new me, the me that had lost almost all the weight I wanted to and I smiled with a tear in my eye. I loved who I saw.
Since then I have noticed more things about myself that I like, and it’s not being vain, it’s just finally realising who I am, what I’ve done and letting go of the angst about how I look.
It’s been 7 months since I started this lifestyle change. And in that 7 months, I am more then on my way to becoming the me I always wanted to be. This would never have happened without the constant support from my husband, my kids, my family and my amazing fellow Lose Baby Weight mummas.
To all out there that doubt you’ll even get close to your finish line, you will, I promise. Just remember to be kind to yourself along the way and that it’s not a race, it’s not a quick fix, it’s changing yourself for the better one day at a time.
