Hi Lose Baby Weight, I have ummed and ahhed about sending in my story as I really don’t want my friends knowing I have been trying to lose my baby weight.
But after being a regular follower of your blog and Facebook and getting so much inspiration from other mums who share their stories that I thought I would send my story in for anyone who has been in a similar position – but please don’t use my last name 🙂
healthy_mummyI gained 25kg with my baby and I thought that if I breastfed the weight would come off. It didn’t and 6 months after the birth of my little boy I was still 25kg over my pre pregnancy weight and I was starting to get really down about it.
I had friends who kept saying “just eat healthy foods” and you will be fine.  And in theory yes that would be great, but my life just seemed to make it all hard to do. I would have weeks when I was like “yes I can do this’ and I would buy all the right food but then when I was tired and grumpy (most days) I just couldn’t be bothered with making all the meals and recipes at every meal time.
So I ended up just snacking all day and eating heaps of bread, biscuits, chips and anything that was easy.  And it got to a stage where I just didn’t care anymore. I was just trying to get through each day and the weight didn’t even bother me anymore.
Then I went to a friends birthday party and the photos that were posted on facebook sent me into a MAJOR meltdown. I didn’t even recognise myself and I HATED what I looked like. I couldn’t believe what I looked like, and it wasn’t just the weight, it was my face and the double chin and dark circles.
So I started searching for something I could do when I was breastfeeding and I came across the Lose Baby Weight site and after reading all the stories and seeing all the support on Facebook I decided to give your weight loss plans a go.
Well I cannot even begin to thank you enough!  That was 10 weeks ago and I have now lost 9.4kg and my energy levels are sky rocketing! I have found the smoothies to be amazing. They are so quick and easy to make – there is now no excuse not to have a healthy brekkie and lunch and I don’t have to worry about cooking or preparing food – which I don’t have time to do 3 times a day and I am also really enjoying the evening meal recipes and am getting into cooking a lot more too.
I still have another 10-12kg to go to get to a weight I will be happy with but I am just so happy with how far I have come. I LOVE the healthy mummy smoothies and I love how my milk supply is stiill strong and even increased slightly and I am now one of those lucky mums who is losing weight when breastfeeding!
I have attached a picture of my favourite smoothie too – hopefully this can be entered into the smoothie of the week prize 🙂

Berry lime smoothie
  • 1/2 a cup of raspberries and blueberries – I use frozen ones
  • 2 x tbsp of healthy mummy vanilla smoothie mix
  • The juice of 1 lime
  • 200ml of rice milk
  • 5 ice cubes

Blend together and enjoy!
I am due to go on a family holiday at Christmas and I am really hoping to get into some swimmers then (not a bikini though!!). Thank you so much for all you do and for creating such great plans and products – and family friendly recipes.
