Try replacing high-fat, high-refined sugar desserts like ice cream, cake and puddings with this healthy mousse made with the goodness of avocado and cacao.
This simple recipe is easy to make because it has only 4 ingredients!

resultsIngredients: 

  • 2 large avocados
  • 4 tablespoons maple syrup
  • 4 tablespoons cacao powder
  • 2 tablespoons crushed pistachios

Optional Extras:

  • Top with chopped almonds instead of pistachios
  • Top with shredded coconut instead of nuts
  • Use honey instead of maple syrup

Method:

  • Mix together the cacao, honey and avocado in a blender until the mixture is completely smooth with no lumps.
  • Taste, and add more honey or cacao to taste, if necessary
  • Healthy Chocolate RecipesPlace the mixture into a piping bag and pipe into small cups or dessert glasses. If you don’t have a piping bag, then simply scoop the mixture into the cups.
  • Refrigerate for 15 minutes, then top with crushed pistachios and serve.

Chocolate Fudge Bites

Ingredients:
  • 1 cup of walnutsweight_loss_recipes
  • 1/2 cup cocoa
  • 1 1/4 cup of fresh or dried dates

If you find your mixture is not binding well you can either add in a little water to bind or soak the dates in water first.

Method:
  • Put all ingredients in a food processor and process for several minutes.
  • Pour into baking tin lined with grease-proof paper. Or for something different press into ice cube trays.
  • Chill, chop and serve.

Makes 8 serves at approx 170 calories a pop.
