Finding out I was pregnant with my third child was a big surprise. I already had two boys aged 3 and 6 months.
After both births I lost some weight very quickly and people would complement me, however that is where the weight loss stopped. So I hadn’t lost that much when I became pregnant for the third time.
I knew I wanted to do something about my pregnancy weight gain when bub was born but wasn’t sure how to go about it.
During my pregnancy I found the Lose Baby Weight group on facebook and read about all the mums losing weight using the program.
The fact that I could breastfeed at the same time was also important. So when my baby girl was 2 months old I finally decided to sign up.
I started using the 28 day plan, having the healthy mummy smoothies for breakfast and lunch and also cooking the meals in the menu plan (which my husband loved – he lost weight too).
Finding time for exercise is tricky with 3 young children but I would walk on the treadmill for 40 minutes when they were in bed.
Another obstacle I faced is having bad back pain, a disc pressing on a nerve which is sometimes quite painful.
In the first 2 months I lost 7kg and was feeling great. When Christmas came, I found it very difficult to get back into my healthy eating and exercise.
I am now back on track and have lost a further 4.5kg making my total weight loss 11.5kg and 2 dress sizes.
I now weigh 69.5kg with a starting weight of 81kg. I haven’t been in the sixties since before I got married so I am very happy.
My goal is to be 65kg so I am nearly there! I am getting really nice compliments from friends and family and they all want to know what I’ve been doing, which is a great feeling.
Exercise is on hold for now as I may be having surgery on my back, but healthy eating and the healthy mummy smoothies are still working great.
