Hi everyone – As I am asked quite a lot about what I use on my skin, I thought I would write a blog on it!
Since I was a teenager I have been a sucker for skin care creams and I can say that I have spent lots of money on all kinds of skin care products which make all kinds of promises!
But after trial and trial and a bit more trial over the years, I have been using the same moisturiser (for over 10 years) and serum for the past 5 years.

Skincare

My skin care routine is pretty basic. No time for fancy things!  I use wet wipes every night to clean my face and remove my makeup – they do the job well and are so convenient!
Then in the morning I always use an exfoliator and my favourite for many years has been the Apricot Scrub from St Ives.

Moisturisers

The one I LOVE and swear by is Dr Hauschka. I have used this for over 10 years and hands down is the best moisturiser I have ever ever used. I use the Rose Day Cream one (not the Rose Day Cream Light) and it makes your skin dewy and super super moisturised and feeling comfortable.
Without this moisturiser my skin feels dry and uncomfortable. I have tried soooo many creams that claim to be really moisturising but this is the only one I have ever tried that really works for my skin. Totally love it.

Serums

I don’t use any day time serums but I do use a night time serum a 2-3 times a week before putting on my moisturiser.
In my quest in my younger days for searching for great skin care I discovered that to make a difference to skin, the serum needed to contain Vitamin A.  But in a much higher concentrate than you can find in a supermarket product. So I now use a Vitamin A cream with 4% Vitamin A in (most supermarket brands have 0.01% in (or something like that!).
I use this a 2-3 times a week and although my skin hasn’t changed much in since I have used it (which is about 5 years ago but I didn’t use it throughout both my pregnancies due to the Vitamin A content) – I do feel it freshens up my skin and psychologically I feel like I am doing something positive for my skin!
The brand is Cosmedix (The product is called Refine) and one pot costs me approx $70 and lasts me for around 3 months. If you use any serum/cream with a high Vitamin A in you also need to ensure you wear a sunscreen.

Sunscreen

I also wear factor 30 sunscreen every day – even in winter. I have done this since I was 18 and I don’t sun bake.

Diet/lifestyle

I try and be as healthy as I can – but I am not perfect!
I eat as well as I can. I drink around 2litres of water a day, I have a Healthy Mummy Smoothie a day.
I don’t smoke. I don’t drink and I don’t sun bathe
