If you’re sick of turkey, ham and roast chicken, spice things up a little with this yummy paprika chicken.
Adding spices to your diet can be a great way to kick your weight loss up a notch by firing up your metabolism.

Paprika, a type of chilli powder that varies in intensity from mild to fiery, contains an ingredient called capsicum which is responsible for generating the heat in the powder.
According to research, capsicum can help give your metabolism a helping hand. Adding paprika to your meals means that you get all the benefits of capsicum, and due to it’s potency, you only need a small amount.
But that’s not all paprika can do. A recent study found that capsicum can actually reduce fat tissue, in particular fat tissue in the stomach area.
This recipe combines lean chicken breast with fresh veggies and spicy paprika for a fresh, taste bud tingling fat fighter of a meal.

Ingredients
  • 500g chicken breast fillets, skin removed and diced into cubes
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 red onion
  • 1 red capsicum, diced into small pieces
  • 1 clove of garlic, crushed
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 2 x 400g cans of diced tinned tomatoes
  • 500g hokkien noodles
  • Few sprigs of finely chopped spring onion
Directions
  • Heat the olive oil in a large saucepan over a medium/high heat.
  • Add the chicken pieces and cook till chicken is no longer pink and cooked through.
  • Once cooked, remove from the heat and place on a dinner plate lined with absorbent kitchen paper.
  • Turn the heat down to medium and add onion and garlic to pan and cook for 3-4 minutes or until transparent.
  • Add the capsicum and cook for another 5 minutes or until everything is softened.
  • Sprinkle in the paprika and stir thoroughly.
  • Add the tinned tomatoes and return the chicken to the pan.
  • Turn heat up slightly so that the mixture simmers and cover with a tight fitting lid.
  • Allow to simmer for 20-25 minutes.
  • While mixture is simmering, cook noodles according to packet instructions.
  • Once chicken mixture is cooked, serve on top of noodles and sprinkle the spring onion on top

Makes 4 servings – 425 cal per serve
