A lot of people think that pesto is one of those things that needs to be bought in a jar.
Well there’s no need for that any more – when you see just how easy it is to make your own, you’ll never look back.
Pesto is a power house of nutrition, as it contains healthy herbs, protein rich nuts, heart happy oils and some plain delicious Parmesan cheese.
You can really tweak this to your hearts content.
Try mixing up the herbs that you use. Basil is the go-to herb but you can really use anything that takes your fancy, such as rocket, coriander, baby spinach, broccoli (yes, broccoli!) or parsley.

Over the weekend, we have been inundated by emails to extend our Mother’s Day Sale!
It seems that a combination of being on TV this week and mid month pay cycles has meant that many mums want to purchase using the Mother’s Day Special but can only do it this week.
So as so many requests came in and as technically it still can be a Mother’s Day special as Mother’s Day was on Sunday, we have decided to EXTEND THE SALE until Sunday May 19! That means you can still get your 15% discount on all purchases PLUS a free pedometer on orders over $72!

Let me start from the beginning of my weight gain journey.
I am a mother to 3 beautiful children aged 5, 3 and 8 months.
During all three pregnancies I did no favours to my body through what I ate and the amount of exercise I did (or should I say didn’t do).
Before I had kids I was about 75kgs. When I was pregnant the first time I put on 10 kilos which I thought was great, as it wasn’t going to be too much of a problem to lose all that weight easily.
I thought wrong.
I tried and tried and only lost about 5 of the 10 kilos.
Then I fell pregnant for the second time, where I put on another 10 kilos.

Hands up if it’s starting to feel like winter around your neck of the woods? It certainly is around ours! Darker mornings, early sunsets and the chill in the air till the sun fully comes out hints that cooler weather is on the way. Autumn and winter can be tricky times when it comes to weight loss and healthy living.
We tend to feel more inspired and enthusiastic when the sun is shining. The longer days that summer brings makes it easier to fit in exercise, while the warmer weather makes foods like salads and smoothies easier to eat as they help us to stay cool, especially on those days when even eating makes us sweat!

If there’s one type of cuisine that takes the cake as one of my absolute favourites of all time, it would have to be Mexican.
There’s something about the delicious flavours and textures that make it a delicious lunch or dinner. Unfortunately, many Mexican dishes aren’t exactly great for weight loss.
All that cheese and sour cream is chock full of the extra calories that we try to avoid when we want to lose weight.

Last week we introduced Eleanor Hannah. She has already lost 20kg on the Lose Baby Weight plans and has overcome some major obstacles along the way. You can read Eleanor’s first post here.
We now have Eleanor’s second post and she has managed to get some great weight loss results even though she has been super busy.
‘Well its one week into the month already, and it’s been a full on week.
Our car broke down, we had to borrow a car to pick up family from the airport, and we had a birthday party which I made 4 cakes for on Saturday.
So today I feel like I’m starting to get on top of washing, cleaning, and dishes after everyone leaving on Sunday.
Eating wise it has been pretty good, I only had one slice of cake (hooray for me!) and a couple of chocolates.

Unless you’ve been hiding beneath a rock, chances are good that you know that tomorrow is Mother’s Day here in Australia. Whether you go all out with the celebrations or stick to something low key, enjoying a yummy breakfast with your family is one of the easiest ways to celebrate the day.

I’m a huge fan of one-bowl recipes, especially one-bowl recipes that are both healthy and weight loss friendly!
