My name is Sammy, I am a Healthy Smoothie Addict and one of your motivating mums for the 28 day challenge. I am also a mum to five beautiful children aged 19, 15, 15, 3 and 1.

Whilst my body is amazing for carrying these little humans which are my world, it is time for this mumma to make positive healthy changes to ensure I am here to see them grow and keep up with them.
I first discovered Lose Baby Weight in March 2015 after having my fifth baby. After watching from the sidelines for a few months, in May 2015 I took that giant step and started my very first challenge. I have since lost 13.5kg and over 50cm from my body and am feeling the healthiest and fittest in my whole adult life.

Well what a month it has been, I have shown my family how easy it is to live on a budget and still eat delicious healthy meals. Being a one wage family has had its challenges but with the help of the challenge recipes it has been a peace of mind knowing we are still eating a well-balanced diet.
There are so many ways to continue to eat healthy on a budget. It is about preparation and looking at what is on special and using alternate ingredients to fit in with your budget. I have managed to pick up some great money saving tips this month that I will continue to use going forward.
Some of the great recipes we have enjoyed are budget beef stew, vegetarian chilli and banana cake. They have all been huge hits with the kids but also hubby too!
While I was determined this was going to be my month to have a big change, life happened and I found myself in a slump. I was both emotionally and physically drained, my youngest baby started day care and I felt like I was spiralling into a dark hole filled with chocolate and ice cream.
While I was still fuelling my body with the amazing healthy mummy smoothies (which I cannot live without) and challenge recipes I just couldn’t find the motivation to exercise. Having anxiety and post-natal depression can really suck at times!
I found myself questioning my own ability to do anything. I turned to the support of the 1000’s of amazing mum’s on the healthy mummy support page and dug out those photos of the old me. This was the kick-start I needed.
I started doing a few segments of the healthy mummy post pregnancy dvd and the feel good endorphins helped immensely to get me back on track. You don’t need fancy equipment or a gym membership to get your body moving.
I absolutely adore the health mummy dvd as I can exercise around the little ones routines without leaving the house. I have recently started doing the stretch and relax segment and wow has it help with my need to relax and have some me time.
I highly recommend anyone to get this and have a date with Lisa, she is amazing and gets you sweating.
I embarked on challenging myself to the 7 day Junk Food Detox in the week leading up to Easter to help kick my body out of this plateau while I haven’t finished yet and yet to check my results I know I am feeling better for it.
Now Easter is here I want to remind everyone that yes it can be challenging with all that delicious chocolate, hot cross buns and food in general but this is a lifestyle change and you still need to enjoy being with family and friends.
A day enjoying all those sometime foods is not going make you fall off the wagon, everything in moderation ladies! Bring on next month’s Sugar Detox Challenge!
