Hi my Name is Nicole and I am excited to be chosen to be a Motivating Mum for September! I have two children, 4 ½ little girl and my son who turns 1 this month. I have lost just over 20kgs (since January) and 38cm (since June)  so far on my Lose Baby Weight journey. I love that I have been chosen as a Motivating Mum as this is really going to help me step it up a notch and keep me accountable.
I started on my weight loss journey with Lose Baby Weight in January. I was 130kgs and had just been diagnosed with high cholesterol and put on medication. This was a huge shock to me as I always thought I had eaten relatively healthy. Boy was I wrong. I knew then and there sitting in the doctor’s surgery I had to make a healthy lifestyle change. Not only for myself but for my family.
The next day I joined my local YMCA with my partner. I felt motivated, I made myself an ultimate goal to get down to a healthy BMI (49kgs to lose), but knew I was missing the major piece to the puzzle – I needed to get my nutrition sorted.
I heard about Lose Baby Weight through a past Lose Baby Weight Motivating Mum Laura. She had a baby around the same time I had my son and holy moly she was looking fantastic. But honestly as soon as I saw that shakes were involved I was turned off. I had tried shake diets before and as soon as you stop the weight just comes back. I knew I wanted a lifestyle change, not a quick fix.
But I saw that it wasn’t only just shakes involved with Lose Baby Weight and I felt really silly! I tried a few of the recipes from the website – They were so delicious!!! I decided to start and purchased the 28 Days Diet and Exercise Plan and Calorie Bible.
So family and budget friendly! Once you have the staples the shops are so much cheaper!
My 4 year old (who is a very picky eater) really enjoys picking out new things to try. Her favourite snacks that she begs me to make for school is the muesli bars from the Calorie Bible (I call them crack bars as they are so darn delicious!!) and the zucchini muffins from the Guilt Free Chocolate & Baking Cookbook. Her favourite breakfast is the blueberry pancakes from the Winter Challenge.
I also did the 28 Day Winter Challenge, I found the food great and the exercises fun and kept me on my toes (ha -the old me would be telling me I was crazzzzy!)
I am really looking forward to this month’s round #2 28 Day Challenge. Week 1’s  menu sure looks good! Who knew losing weight meant eating all this yummy food!!
Lose Baby Weight has taught me how to eat healthily and find my balance with nutrition and exercise. I shudder when I think back to before I started Lose Baby Weight and what I was eating. Sure I slip up some days but I don’t dwell on it. I work a little harder at the gym or make myself a Healthy Mummy Smoothie to make up for the treat. I don’t deprive myself on treats as I find I binge if I do. I need to remind myself that: “that tub of ice cream will be there tomorrow, you don’t need to eat it all in one sitting!”
As I said earlier I really wanted to make a lifestyle change, I don’t expect this to happen over night. On the days I feel disappointed because the numbers aren’t budging on the scales I take my measurements. You will be surprised to see that you are still making progress! If you haven’t taken any measurements just yet do it!!! There is a fantastic Lose Baby Weight measurement tracker on the website! Use it! Trust me! When you see the graph go down you are going to feel amazing!!!! I wish I took my measurements back when I first started on the Lose Baby Weight plans!
My goal for this month is to take full advantage of the Lose Baby Weight 28 Day Challenge! I can’t wait to see if I can beat my fitness test scores! I have also booked myself in for a few PT sessions to keep me on my toes. It’s going to be a busy month as my youngest is turning 1! But I am so excited to see where I will be at the end of the month!
