Hi, my name is Kellie and I’m one of your July Motivating Mums.
I am a 33 year old Mum of 4 gorgeous kids aged 11, 10, 7 and 5. I started my journey on the Healthy Mummy 10 months ago at an unhealthy, “overweight” 84kg and am now a happy, healthy 66kg. I am so close to my goal weight of 64kg-65kg that I can almost see it.Before I started, I was tired, unhealthy and had a sore bloated tummy all the time. I had sensitive teeth, terrible BO and eczema flareups from eating the wrong foods. Being a cake maker/decorator didn’t help as I was always making extra treats for my family and I. My unhealthy relationship with food started to affect my whole family.
I became very sick with Glandular fever in August 2015 just weeks before joining. I was still quite sick when I joined up at the start of September, but within days of starting the smoothies and healthy eating, I started to improve, and within weeks I had a lot more energy. My tummy started feeling better, my sensitive teeth and BO disappeared and my eczema became much more manageable.
I learned very quickly that my body needed nutritious, healthy food to fuel it. I started being the energetic Mum I always wanted to be and my kids also started benefiting, by being taught how to have a healthy relationship with food.
Being chosen to be a Healthy Mummy has given me a new drive and determination to continue my weightless journey and soon head into maintenance mode. I have a renewed excitement for exercise, meal planning and meal prep. When I have a new focus, I give it my all to ensure I succeed and this is no exception.
I have my sister’s wedding in 11 weeks and have decided to challenge myself in the 3 months leading up to it, by doing 200km+ on the treadmill or crosstrainer. I have also challenged my sister to 100km+ and she has taken it on with determination. This is something I never would have done before The Healthy Mummy.
My focus is shifting as I get closer to goal, from weight loss to better fitness and toning, so this is perfect to help me along the way. Following the 28 day weight loss challenge as well as using the smoothies is helping ensure my food intake is on track while I do this. Every day I get a little closer to completing my challenge. Watching the km’s go up and the cm’s go down is very satisfying. I think we need to set new challenges for ourselves throughout our journeys so that we stay motivated.
Motivation can be very hard to find in the months of winter but I am determined to not let winter beat me.
Do whatever works for you in this exciting journey as no two of us will have exactly the same one ahead.
I am very excited to see what the rest of July brings for us all.
Kellie xx
