What drives you? What picks you up and pushes you to carry on when you fall? What inspires you to be the best you can be? For me that’s my two little boys. They remind me each and every day how important this healthy journey.
I want them to grow up with a healthy relationship with food and exercise. I feel overwhelmed by the task in front of me to mould them into great men, confident men, men who respect women and understand that a person’s worth is not measured by their size or shape. Most of all I want to set an example by being a confident, healthy role model. A mamma who is proud of the stretch marks and wobbly tummy from carrying those two precious babies.

My name is Kathryn and I am one of the Winter Warrior Motivating Mums for July. I found The Healthy Mummy when my first born was 3 months old. I had a poor relationship with food (and sleep) and noticed a good mummy friend was looking increasingly more fit and healthy, while I was looking increasingly more tired and run down. She introduced me to The Healthy Mummy and by following the program I lost over 20kg and gained so much more energy to enjoy life.
Flash forward 3 years and I am 7 months postpartum with my second son. I had a much healthier pregnancy thanks the Healthy Mummy. However, I still managed to put on over 20kg due to work stress and lack of exercise. When my weight stabilised a few weeks after birth, I weighed 85.5kg.
Since then I have lost 10.5kg so far following the challenges and drinking the smoothies. I love the 28 day challenges because they make meal planning and shopping so streamlined. It’s much easier to stay on track at the supermarket when your shopping list has been automatically generated!
Being able to customise the meals to suit my family is brilliant, there is always something that will please everyone, even the fussy threenager will usually have a go. I have 7kgs left to lose and with the help of The Healthy Mummy, I feel like my goal is so close I can taste it and I am more motivated than ever to get there.
There are barely any photos of me with my first baby in the first few months because I had such low self esteem and I hated what I saw in the mirror. I’m ashamed to say I even deleted photos that I thought were unflattering. Thanks to The Healthy Mummy I’ve learned some self love and my before photo this time around is actually a photo that I love. Despite being overweight, it is from my sons 3rd birthday and I will cherish that memory. I have gained so much from adopting this healthy lifestyle and I can’t wait to see what this month brings.
