Hi, I’m Katrina, mum of two kids and one of the #countdowntosummer motivating mums. I’ve lost over 15kg following the Lose Baby Weight 28 day challenges.
Lose baby Weight-15kg Loss

Two weeks into the countdown to summer challenge, my family faced its own challenge – I went back to work after 13 months off for maternity leave. All of a sudden I felt unorganised and stressed.
Going to work again felt so much harder than when I was working with just one child, but I don’t know why, especially as I have all my meals planned through the 28 day challenge. I am a pretty organised person generally, but working again has meant being even more organised.
So what did I do? I cooked up extra portions for meals that I could quickly reheat for tea. I planned on having smoothies for tea some nights (and pre-cooked meals for the kids that just needed a reheat).
My eldest had cheese and jatz for tea one night because that was all he wanted. I designed my meal plan around when I’d be able to cook up extra food for working days e.g. on Monday I cooked up the spinach balls that would last for the next four days for afternoon snacks.
So far, so good. My only issue is that I seem to be extra hungry on my days at work, and that fitting in exercise is harder. I am very lucky to have access to a gym area at work, so when I can, I do my challenge exercises at lunch time.

The days when I can’t do a lunchtime workout, I feel like I have a dark cloud over my head  – ‘when am I going to exercise, when am I going to exercise?’ I don’t particularly like exercising in the evening but I’ve done it a few times when needed.
My motto for exercise at the moment is ‘don’t think about it, just do it’. So on days when I’m not at work, as soon as my daughter goes down for her day sleep, I look up that day’s challenge exercise set and just do it.
The challenge exercises take me around 30 minutes. I love the pilates sets but they can be deceivingly hard once you get into it.
As I write this, I have sore arms and legs from the previous two days’ exercise sets. But it’s a good sore. The kind of sore that I know is building muscle and going to help me feel better when I’m wearing a singlet and shorts during summer
It’s now a few weeks into the 100 days to summer countdown and I’m feeling pretty good. I have exercised EVERY day and my food intake has been healthy.
I am pretty sure I’m at my goal weight – I haven’t looked at the scales for over a month now but during that time, I can feel that I’ve lost weight. And I am nearly fitting comfortably back into my goal jeans!
Let’s see how the rest of the countdown to summer goes!

Erin says: “I love the 28 day challenge! It takes all the guess work of “what do i have for dinner” and fumbling around the fridge looking for ingredients before deciding on something “easy” (and usually not healthy!) The best thing is, after doing my weekly shop once the shopping list comes out I have everything I need to make something HEALTHY AND EASY!”
