Every month, a mum who is on the Lose Baby Weight plans will be writing about their journey, exercise, ups and downs and will be here to help motivate YOU and THEMSELVES along the way.

This month we have Emilley Kingsman as one of our Motivating Mums. Emilley has already lost 17kg and you can read her first post here.
‘This week has been a hugely positive one for me! Not only have I lost 1.8kg since I wrote my introductory post in mid-May, but I’m also starting to see more results when I exercise.
I’m at a stage in my fitness where I want to push myself harder, because I know that normally I stop earlier than my full potential could actually allow.

I feel that this is both a mental and an emotional barrier, and can be quite hard to move past.
This week though, I was determined to start changing that. Whether it was powering through a few extra squats, pushing through a couple more reps or going just that 100m further!
I have also started adding some running when my son and I go for our afternoon walks with the dog.
After taking part in a 5km obstacle race in February, I really wanted to improve my running on uneven ground.
I was so used to running on a smooth treadmill at the gym, that I found it much more difficult to negotiate uneven ground when running outdoors! Now seems like a good time to start working on that =)
I also took part in a fun run on the weekend (Color Run), which was fantastic! I honestly encourage everyone to give a fun run a go. Most of them are 5km.
I promise that they really aren’t anywhere near as scary as they sound!
lose_baby_weightThe idea used to petrify me, but once I had done one and realised that you can walk, dance, hop, skip, run, power walk or crawl your way around, I couldn’t wait to do another one!
The feeling of crossing the finish line and knowing that you’ve achieved something is amazing!
You don’t have to aim to be the fastest, you just have to aim to finish. It’s achievable for everyone, and I challenge all of you mums to challenge yourselves to participate in at least one fun run this year. You won’t regret it!
This week, I’ve cooked quite a few of the recipes from the 28 Day Plan.
I think it’s so easy to pull out the excuse that cooking fresh, healthy food takes too much time (and we all know that mums are normally quite pressed for time!). But this simply isn’t true!
Eating healthy meals doesn’t have to mean slaving over a hot stove for hours or spending what feels like an eternity cutting up ingredients. You just need to think smarter, not harder.
Planning ahead is one of the best ways to do this. I find that if I spend an hour on the weekend, planning dinners for the week ahead, I actually save way more time during the week!
I’m loving the fact that the 28 Day Plan has shopping lists written out for you! I also like to cook double batches and freeze leftovers for nights when we need to get a quick, healthy meal on the table.
My Healthy Mummy Smoothies have been going down super well this week, with lots of new combinations tried!
My son loves sharing the smoothies with me, and I feel good knowing that it’s all healthy. In fact, I love knowing that he is learning healthy habits from early on his life!
It makes me feel proud to know that the hard work I am putting into leading a healthy lifestyle is subsequently benefiting the health of my family too.

One of our favourite smoothies this week was our early morning ‘Orange Mocha’ smoothie. Tasty! 250ml low fat milk of choice, 2 scoops of Healthy Mummy chocolate smoothie mix, ½ banana, 1 orange (skin removed and cut into chunks) and 1 small tsp decaffeinated coffee.
For the week ahead, I’m going to try making some of the yummy warm meals from the 7 Day Winter Warmer Plan.
It’s been getting so cold here, so I can’t wait to cook some of the soups to keep us toasty warm as the winter chill sets in each afternoon. I’ll keep you posted on how they go and which ones end up being our favourites!
This weekend is going to test my willpower. One of my closest friends is getting married in just over a week, and I am honoured to be one of her bridesmaids! The Hens Night is this weekend, and we have a lot planned!
I’m not going to make myself feel guilty if I overindulge for the night, however I’d like to be able to look back and say that I had a good balance going on.
I found it hard to find balance when we went out for lunch for a friend’s birthday a few days ago. They chose an ‘all you can eat’ Chinese restaurant. It was yummy, but when the food just keeps on arriving at the table, it can be hard to stop yourself from eating more than normal.
I’ll have to work on some tips for finding that balance when going out to eat =)
