Hi my name is Bridget and I am one of your August Motivating Mums. I stumbled upon the Healthy Mummy Facebook page in September 2015. After seeing all the amazing results from all the mummies, I joined the 28 day Challenge in October 2015 and haven’t looked back. I have lost 8kg using the 28 day Challenges and Smoothies and over 88cm.

The 28 day weigh loss challenge was my lifesaver! I found it just as I was heading back to work as a teacher and it allowed me to plan my meals weekly with ease. I love that not only am I feeding my family delicious meals, but they are also healthy. In some ways, finding The Healthy Mummy was the turning point of 2015 for me.
In January 2015 I welcomed my second daughter into the world and my now 4 year old was 2 ½. When Miss C was only 3 weeks old I broke my ankle. Looking after a 2 year old and a newborn on crutches is impossible and this is when my depression kicked in. To lose control over your life was really hard. Having to rely on friends and family for everything made me feel worthless.
After my first daughter I put on a lot of weight and had worked really hard to lose it all before falling pregnant with my second. I had plans to start exercising as soon as I could but then the broken ankle occurred and it stopped me in my tracks. It honestly just made me not care and I ate chocolate all day every day. Finally in May I was allowed to exercise and play sport again and I was ready to lose the baby weight. I started tracking my food and exercising everyday. But over the 5 months I only lost 2kg. I was ready to try something different and finally found The Healthy Mummy and officially joined the 28 day weight loss challenges in October.
November 2015 was my first full month of the 28 Day Challenge and I was ready. Just in November alone I lost 3kg. I was in love! I lost 8kg by January but my weight loss has now slowed and heading backwards. I will not be stopped because I am motivated and ready to commit and get back on track.
I think that having to overcome my injuries and obstacles have made me stronger and more determined. As soon as I could start running I was back. I started out with a slow run/walk just 3-5 km till I could run further and further. I competed and won my local half marathon in October and participated in a few 10km fun runs and my times are faster then pre children. It just shows us mummies are made of strong stuff.
So I am ready to make August my month! I have 2 big goals I am going to work my hardest for. Its time for me to stop making excuses.
Goal 1: To start tracking my eating again and lose 2kg this month. I need to be accountable for what I put in my mouth and by tracking that secret bit of chocolate does count.
Goal 2: Run my 3rd half marathon on 28 August.
