Miriam Loses 28kg


Hi my name is Miriam and I am so excited about being a Lose Baby Weight motivating mum for February! I have two sons, aged 9 months and 3 years and with the 28 Day Plan I have lost 28kg

I am really busy looking after them as they are both super active and I am breastfeeding my 9 month old. I haven’t had much sleep over the last 3 years and it has been a very full on time for me!


My first son was born by emergency cesarean and unfortunately I had secondary infections and had to go back into hospital when he was 3 weeks old. It took a long time to heal and I wasn’t able to exercise much for the first few months.

I had put on 32 kg and did not feel very happy about it. I started healthy eating and going to the gym and lost about 20kg. When he was about 13 months I discovered Lose Baby Weight on facebook and started following the advice on the website.

I then started using the 28 day plan and started doing big hill walks every morning with my son in the buggy. I managed to lose a further 10kg and started feeling on top of the world. Shortly after that I got pregnant and the weight started coming back!

During my pregnancy I was really active and more conscious about what I was eating. I was really unlucky when I had an accident and broke my toe at 7 months pregnant. This had me in a moon boot and on crutches, and of course I couldn’t walk! Would you believe, a week later I broke my finger too. I was so upset about my injuries as it meant during the last 2 months of my pregnancy I couldn’t stay fit. I put on 28kg.

After a natural birth with my second son, I healed much quicker and was able to take him for walks in the front pack within a few days. The first few months were a sleep deprived blur but when he was 4 months I got out the 28 day plan and started changing my eating habits again.

I was so inspired by the other mums on the Lose Baby Weight facebook page and it helped to kick me into gear.I was steadily losing weight and managed to lose 20 kg by the time he was 7 months. I then stated upping my exercise – with more up hill walking, yoga at home and then stated back at the gym every second day.

I have stayed on this routine and now am down 28kg to my pre-pregnancy weight. I have 10 more kgs to go until I reach my goal weight. I have found that I need to work much harder and the weight loss has really slowed down. But I hope I can motivate other mums and myself to get through the last leg of the journey!
