When first starting on a healthy eating diet plan it can be frustrating if you don’t see any changes to your weight but the important thing to remember is to continue with the changes you’ve made, even if you’re going slowly and you’ll soon see the results you’re after and lose baby weight.
Lauren has now lost 46kg and says:

“If you’re just starting out on your journey, I’d highly recommend starting with a 28 Day Weight Loss Challenges. It’s such a great way to learn about healthy eating and exercise…..
The Challenges are perfect as they run for 28 days, with so many different customizable options for every meal and day. There is no better time to start your journey than today!”

Today Lauren Breedt shares her story about how she found the best way to lose weight with the Lose Baby Weight Plans and has lost 46kgs since starting her journey.
I started gaining weight when I was about 17. I was totally deluded to my weight gain and still thought I looked like my amazing, fit, younger teen self. I played sport and exercised regularly all through my teens until I was in year 12 and came down with glandular fever. I stopped playing soccer, stopped exercising, ate salt and vinegar chips ALL the time (they were my major downfall) and then just never got back into anything that moved my body.

I ate well at home but ate junk food at school and after school and just kept spiraling.  I married my high school sweetheart when I was 19, and for the year before our wedding I went to an amazing PT who put a lot of effort into our trainings, while I binge ate salt and vinegar chips after our sessions because I deserved it right?! I didn’t really lose any weight at all and still deluded myself into thinking I was fit and healthy.
I was overweight when I got married and still wish I could go back and do it all again, happier and healthier! Eight months into being married I fell pregnant and had severe morning (all day!) sickness. Salt and vinegar chips became the only thing I would eat. I’d eat toast every morning, salt and vinegar chips as a snack, a chip sandwich for lunch, chips for a snack, then pizza or McDonalds for dinner.  I literally feel sick thinking about how blatantly I disrespected my body and my son growing inside me.
I weighed in at 100kgs flat on the day I had my son. I felt so sick as I had started at 76kgs (which I had believed was a healthy weight for me, but NO! Not so much) I had a long labour, that resulted in a c-section as my son was 12 pounds.

Ten days after having him I weighed 80kgs as I was hardly eating anything and was barely coping with the stress of a newborn. Not long after that I handled parenting a lot better and easily gained lots of weight back. I was between 100 and 110kgs for most of the first year of his life.
On his first birthday I found out I was pregnant, which I absolutely did not expect and weighed 93kgs at the time. I was classed as obese which I did not feel at all and absolutely devastated me. I “tried” to lose weight (rather unsuccessfully) and continued to gain.
I wasn’t weighed before giving birth (thank goodness because I’d hate to know!) and weighed 103kgs not long after giving birth. I continued in my bad habits until I realised one day in April 2014 that enough was enough and I needed to take my health seriously. Up to this point when I had “dieted” (skinny teas, quick fixes!) I had attempted eating healthy for one meal and then bingeing absolute junk for my other meals.

This time I needed to commit to myself and health 100%. That meant stopping using my kids as excuses for junk food, not being able to exercise, fitting the “mum” look, “baby weight” etc.  I had no idea where to start but talked to my (super inspirational!) friend Cassie Davidson who had been doing Lose Baby Weight for a while and was doing so well with her weight loss.
I started May 1. Wow. My life changed BIG TIME. I lost 12kgs in the first month, with hardly any exercise. I then started exercising, just doing HIIT workouts at home.
Combined with the healthy eating of Lose Baby Weight I just kept losing weight. I joined the 28 Day Weight Loss Challenge and absolutely adored the recipes.

The best thing about Lose Baby Weight (and I know MANY people have said this before me) is that it’s not a quick fix.
I KNOW all you want when you’re trying to lose weight is a quick fix. Oh trust me, I know! You want all the weight gone NOW and when it’s not happening fast enough, you give up! I have done this SO many times; poor choices and no information didn’t help either.

Lose Baby Weight helps you understand HOW to lose weight, the SAFE way to do it, and WHY it happens a particular way. I could not recommend a program more than ANY part of Lose Baby Weight. There are so many success stories from the Healthy Mummy Smoothies, 28 Day Challenges, DVDs, cookbooks etc.
If you’re just starting out on your journey, I’d highly recommend starting with a 28 Day Weight Loss Challenges. It’s such a great way to learn about healthy eating and exercise and habits are made in 21 days so the Challenges are perfect as they run for 28 days, with so many different customizable options for every meal and day. There is no better time to start your journey than today!
I have now lost 46kgs (from 103kgs to 57kgs) in 9 months (May 2014 – Feb 2015). I’ve also come from a size 22 and XXL to a size 6-8 and XS. If you’re struggling to set yourself a goal, I made “healthy” on the BMI scale my motivator and fought to get to that (68kgs). I then just kept on my healthy lifestyle, eating well and exercising a few times a week.
Weight loss is one of the best things you can possibly do for yourself and your family. It has improved every aspect of my life. I would encourage you to start, to take the first steps, because baby steps and small changes will lead to leaps and a full life turn around.
Join the support groups, get involved, and I so look forward to seeing and joining in your journeys! The world can be dark and mean but this group of women is so supportive, understanding and committed to uplifting and loving each other. You are so worth it!

Lauren on stretch marks

Yes I do have stretch marks!
I have been offered a free tummy tuck though, as my son was 12lbs. I was told to book it in just after I had him, but it would be at the cost of having o
ther children so I refused. It still stands though as now I’ve had 2 c-sections.
We’re still deciding whether or not to further our family so at this stage I’m ignoring the vanity that tells me to get a tummy tuck and not have any more kids. If I do get a tummy tuck I want to be 1000% sure that we aren’t going to have more children
