Hi, I’m Katrina, Mum of two kiddies and one of the Motivating Mums for the Countdown to Summer and I have lose 17kgs* with Lose Baby Weight.
With the countdown getting close to being finished, I’ve been thinking about what my goal was at the start. It was to get back into regular exercise.

I did really well for the first half of the countdown but the second half has been sporadic.

However, it has become clear to me (and my physio) that I need to stick to the physio-set exercises for now, to get my body strong enough again for more intensive exercise.
As anyone who has been let-down by their body’s capacity would know, it’s really disappointing to want to achieve something but not be able to (not without causing significant damage anyway).
This is the only body I have, and I’ve got my whole life to live with it and improve it, so I just have to be patient for now.
During the first half of the countdown, I did reach my goal of getting back to my pre-pregnancy size 12.
I haven’t weighed myself for a few months now but going by how I am fitting into my clothes, I am back to where I was pre-pregnancy – at least in terms of size even though my fitness has a long way to go.
I’ve had lots of special occasions to attend recently – an interstate wedding, kids birthday parties – and my eating has not been ideal.

But this is life and as I move from losing weight to maintaining, I am working on finding a balance that’s right for me and my family.
My life has been super hectic lately so I need to get back into being organised!
Being prepared with meal planning, shopping and cooking extra meals or snacks to freeze. Luckily I have my Healthy Mummy smoothie mix in the cupboard for when I need a quick meal.
And after being a 28 Day Challenge member for nine months now, I have a range of go-to meals that can be cooked easily for the family – without even needing to look at the recipe e.g. the Rosemary Pancetta Chicken which is a favourite with all the family.
I hope everyone smashes out the last of this Countdown to Summer. Re-check your goals and – even if like me you have veered off track – keep going as best as you can.
