‘I’m not too sure about everyone else but I know that in the cooler months all I want to eat is warming comforting food!
That’s why I love following the 28 Day Weight Loss Challenges as you still get to eat your favourite warming foods, just the healthier version and !
Here are my top 5 winter snacks that all average around 150 cals each:

ResultsHot Chocolate

  • I love hot chocolates!  I blend together 200ml unsweetened almond milk and 1tbsp Healthy Mummy Smoothie mix and some cinnamon or coconut and heat in the microwave.  You can see some more warm smoothie recipes here.

Soup

  • I was never really a fan of soup until I tried several soups from the 28 Day Weight Loss Challenges and now I am hooked! I love to have a mug of soup on a super cold afternoon. You can get a free day pass here on the Challenge to test it out to0

Egg on Toast

  • I love eggs any time as they are so versatile but on toast always feels like a naughty luxury! I dry fry one egg and have it on toast with lots of cracked pepper but you could have left over frittata or some egg muffins.  You can find lots of egg recipes here.

Cheese and Tomato Melt

  • I lay my tomato on the bread, top with some light tasty cheese and put under the grill until melted- delish!!  My kids really love this one too and I often make it with ham and avocado for my kids and they love it!  You can find some more kid friendly snacks here.

Peanut Butter on Toast

  • Love this one! I use wholemeal or soy and linseed bread and pop in the toaster and top with 1tbps 100% natural peanut butter. Bananas can be added too and are a fantastic mood boosting food- so perfect for an afternoon snack. You can read more about mood boosting foods here.
