I can’t believe it’s been 18 months since I first began my weight loss journey with Lose Baby Weight! In that time I have lost 35kgs and I’ve successfully maintained my current weight of 63kgs for the last seven months.

Being in ‘maintenance mode’ has been surprisingly trickier to wrap my head around than when I was actively trying to lose weight.
Watching the scales hovering around a number instead of going down has been the biggest mental obstacle for me.
I’m now content with maintaining my current weight and as long as I continue to eat well and exercise often I know I will have long term success.
28_day_challengeI have relied heavily on the wonderful nutrition information on the Lose Baby Weight website to keep me on track , and I’ve been a 28-Day Challenge member since its inception in July 2014.
The Challenge recipes and customisable meal planner have been integral in my weight loss and weight maintenance.
All the tasty recipes make healthy eating exciting and they keep me from getting bored. I love cooking recipes from the Lose Baby Weight website, books and Challenges for my friends and family.
They always comment how the food is so tasty and that it surely can’t be healthy – but of course, it is! My family’s current favourites from the 28-Day Challenge Recipe Hub are the Pear, Date & Zucchini Muffins, the Apple Quesadillas and the Curried Cauliflower Parcels.
Going hand-in-hand with great nutrition is exercise, and this is where I’ve found consistency has really been key.

Getting the balance right between healthy eating and exercise in order to maintain my weight has been a big learning curve; too much and my weight goes down, not enough and there’s a decrease in my muscle tone.
I’ve worked out that for me the daily exercises in the 28-Day Challenge are the perfect way to maintain my weight. I pair them with a 30 minute incline walk or run on the treadmill three times a week as well.
healthy mummy smoothiesHeading into winter I’ve decided to work harder on my core and abs as I feel I’ve neglected that area a bit in favour of my legs and arms.
This is the first winter that I will be maintaining my weight so I will be trying hard to accomplish the goals I have set for myself so that I stay on track and accountable.
