Since starting the Lose Baby Weight plans, I have lost more than the weight. I no longer have acne on my face, severe dermatitis, my mood swings have reduced, bloating and stomach cramps are gone and the chronic headache which I endured for a year, maybe two years – I can’t even remember how long!! – well that was gone within 24 hours of starting on my weight loss journey!
I am so thankful that for the first time in my life, I feel healthy and well and best of all, equipped to live well and teach my children well. It turns out that the dermatitis, headaches, upset tummy etc was caused by a gluten intolerance. I inadvertently cut gluten from my diet by switching to healthier options (brown rice, quinoa etc) when starting the diet.

Early in July, after having lost ten kilos, I fell off the wagon big time and majorly overdosed on birthday cakes (four in a week was rough!) and pretty much ate whatever I felt like, much of it containing the gluten….and then paid the consequences. I was hesitant to start to “lose baby weight” when I was actually already obese prior to having my babies. I did gain about 20 kilos being pregnant twice in two years so I still had baby weight to lose. After considering the plan for a while I figured even if I only got back to pre-baby weight then even that would be amazing.
The deciding moment for me was seeing Linda Hallas’ before and after photos. Her “before” looked just like ME!! I ordered the healthy mummy smoothies and 28 day plan and got started in May 2013, still not really believing that I could do it. I don’t have a proper “before” photo because of that doubt and then after losing nearly 5 kilos in the first week realised it was then too late for a before photo.
The “before” photo that I have posted is at my daughter’s 2nd birthday in April 2013. It was a beautiful birthday but I spent the whole day in and out of clothes trying to find something that made me look and feel good, I never found it. I struggled to walk around, to carry my babies, fit into chairs, it really was just miserable for me.
I have a long way to go and still feel doubtful sometimes that I can lose weight beyond my pre baby body but I now have only a few kilograms to go until I start the next stage of my journey. I have lost over 12 kilos in 10 weeks and I am feeling so good and fitting back into my pre baby clothes! It is such a good feeling to do something positive.
I have more energy, I can get up and down off the ground to play with my kids. Sometimes when we are out walking I just start running because I have so much energy and I CAN! I am enjoying new foods I have never tried before and no longer poisoning my body with foods that are bad for me. Thank you to Lose Baby Weight, my life has changed for the better.
A quick tip for anyone who has not gotten into drinking apple cider vinegar before meals, I would highly recommend starting out with about 1-2 teaspoons diluted in a full cup of water and take your time building up to the full tablespoon. It took about a week for it to start tasting more like cider and less like vinegar but I 100% swear by it, even on days when I have made some bad food choices I have still lost weight and I put it down to the cider vinegar.
