I’ve lost 5kgs so far and have a little way to go but I’m happy to share my tips for maintaining as I’ve done it before – I just hit a few of life’s speed bumps.

My Top 10 Tips

  • Don’t miss snacks! They are an important part of the day and keep your metabolism a boost!
  • Try new sports and fitness activities. Get excited about getting active and always make time for it.
  • Buy the Healthy Mummy Smoothie powders if you haven’t yet & give them a try! I have them for breakfast everyday and it’s a great way to stay on top of your meals and eat on the go! Take a container of powder in your handbag so you have some as backup to make a yummy basic smoothie if you get stuck.
  • Go shopping as often as you can afford to. Buy yourself some nice outfits that you feel fab in – you’ll never want to put weight on again if you’re looking amazing!
  • Don’t get stuck! Always be prepared. Have snacks in your handbag, gym bag, on your desk at work. Nuts, fruit, crackers. Anything that will tide you over and keep you away from the snack bar or vending machine!
  • Tell your family & friends you are maintaining. It can be as tricky as losing it in the first place. Don’t let anyone sabotage your great achievement.  Sadly they are out there and can be jealous of your success. Keep a level head and eat what you know is right and healthy for your body.
  • Still enjoy everything in moderation. If you go out for dinner have that nice glass of wine – but don’t drink the whole bottle!
  • You don’t have to weigh all your food for all your meals, but do it every now and then to make sure your measurements are still what they should be. It’s easy to forget it add a bit extra.
  • Still track your calories. Use an app like myfitnesspal. I’d be lost without it! So easy to use and you can plan your whole day ahead of time. It will also keep you focused.
  • As always – Relax. Don’t compare yourself to others and weigh yourself everyday – you’ve done such an amazing job to come this far – don’t let it overtake you and become obsessed with it. Enjoy the new amazing you and embrace it.

Yes you’re going to have hiccups and loads of temptation but just get back on track and you’ll find it all just becomes habit.
