I’m thrilled to be one of the FEBFRIENDZY Motivating Mums alongside my partner in crime Jannelle Battenally. We have both been apart of Lose Baby Weight for quite some time now. Jannelle first commenced her journey back in June 2015 while I first started LBW in September 2014. So here is a little about us!

Janelle’s Story

Hi my name is jannelle and I have been over weight most of my adult life.
I have tried many times over the years to lose weight but I was never successful until right before I fell pregnant with my son.

I did not gain much during pregnancy but while breast feeding I gained it all back and more. I was addicted to deep fried food and soft drink. Some weeks I would eat something deep-fried every day and would go out of my way to find junk food.
I had seen lose baby weight pop up in my Facebook news feed several times but I always made an excuse as to why I would fail.
But one day I said to myself enough is enough and I’m going to give this a go!
I did and after 6 months I had lost almost 15kgs* but then the Christmas and holiday period was upon me and I felt myself slipping into my old habits bad eating, soft drink and making every excuse I could to not exercise.
Once again I had to tell myself enough is enough and get back into my healthy eating and exercise. I did and it was easy as I feel the 28 day challenge is a life style change and not a fad diet.
I am really looking forward to having Claire as my buddy for February as she can help motivate and push me to get to my goals!

Claire’s Story

I first started Lose Baby Weight weighing at 88kg at 5 months post-partum. I knew I had gained weight during pregnancy and then I started breastfeeding our daughter so I was CONSTANTLY starving and the weight kept on piling on. It wasn’t until we had our family portraits done that I finally saw just how far I had let myself go.
I was disgusted with the way I looked. I was depressed, lacked self-love and respect and avoided mirrors.
I couldn’t stand the woman looking back at me in the mirror, I couldn’t love myself so how was I meant to allow my husband to be affectionate towards me?
It was those family photos that caused me to have that ‘light bulb moment’. The moment when you become so determined that no one will stand in your way, stopping you from accomplishing your goals.
It was around this time that I discovered Lose Baby Weight. I commenced my first challenge on the 1st Sep 2014. I cut out the junk food, removed soft drinks and juices from my diet and began with walking 4-5km per day with the pram. I learnt that with LBW you never deprive yourself or feel like you’re missing out.
I just made healthier alternatives to our family favourite meals and started cooking from their free recipes from the website and also incorporated the challenge meals too.

As time passed by I increased my exercise to jogging and then finally building up to running. I also regularly use the Lose Baby Weight DVD.
On the days that it was too hot, too cold, raining, had a clingy child etc. I would put the dvd on and work up a sweat. By June 2014 I had managed to lose a massive 27KG!
In Dec 2015, my family and I moved from Brisbane, Queensland to Rural Victoria. LBW has the most amazing support network.
I have been fortunate to meet many wonderful women and develop wonderful friendships all thanks to LBW.
I found that Jannelle lived only the next town over and so we organised a meet and here we are now Feb Motivating mums together.
Some of our goals for this month include:

  • Avoid negative food addictions
  • Jannelle aims to run for 1km without stopping
  • Feel healthier and happy within
  • Jannelle plans to loose 3kg
  • Claire plans to commence her running program of 1 x 2.4kg interval run, 1x 5km run 1x 7km run and 1x 10km run each week
  • Claire plans to get back into meal prepping to help avoid temptations
  • Claire aims to loose 4kg

We are both so excited to be teamed up together to not only help motivate each other but also help YOU accomplish your goals this month.
