Janet’s 2nd Motivating Post & Weight Loss Tips

Hi Mums,
Happy end of Daylight Savings! Isn’t it funny how some things just aren’t the same after you have kids? Where is this extra hour of sleep I keep hearing about??
But I do believe it’s a great opportunity to get active early in the day, while our bodies still ‘think’ it’s an hour later. This Sunday morning my lovely husband looked after our little Jensen for an hour while I went for my first bike ride in over a year! It was so nice to do something different and it was stunning weather. I thought I was reasonably fit but I got that familiar queasy feeling that comes with starting a new exercise. I kept going and I felt so good afterwards.
This will be a weekly thing from now on so I look forward to increasing my stamina on the bike and building those metabolism-boosting leg muscles!

Yesterday I did a 10km jog/walk which took over 12,000 steps! I jogged as much as I could and took every hill or ramp I could find to challenge my muscles. I had the pram with me and it was really nice to take a break half way through and have some play time in a park with my little one. He also had a great sleep- I find the minute I start jogging he falls asleep, similar to being in the car.
My mentality has definitely changed recently which I noticed just before I started my jog. As I looked down over where I was headed, there was a flat path along the bottom and multiple ramps up and down a steep hill along the top.
Where the old me might have taken the easy path I decided to go up and down every ramp and jog whenever I was travelling on the flat path. I was so tired yesterday when I first got home and slept like a teenager last night but I also had a ‘buzz’ that helped me control my eating at a family dinner that night.

My tips on over coming falling off the wagon

There has been a lot of talk this week about motivation. Personally I find there is no better motivation for healthy eating than a bit of exercise. There’s something about putting in all that hard work that really makes me question whether I’m prepared to waste it with unhealthy eating.
If I ever ‘fall off the wagon’ it can also be easy to get stuck in a negative thought pattern and thinking that “I’ll give up today and just start next week”. While that can work for some people, I find I’m much more successful if I start again right then and there.
If I have some cake and two lattes in the morning it would be easy to think I’ve ruined the whole day- but that’s NOT true! I can still have a light lunch and dinner and a bit of exercise like a walk, or lunges and crunches depending on how much time I have. This is the new way of thinking that’s helping me get results!
The other effective way to get motivated is to get support. Whether it’s from friends and family or even if you contact Lose Baby Weight to get that bit of encouragement you need to get you through, it’s so worth reaching out.
Don’t ever be too embarrassed- we are talking about your health and happiness here! The support from the Lose Baby Weight website and their Facebook page is a fantastic way to get support, tools and motivation and help you get those results! I would encourage you to click on ‘recent posts by others’ which is a great forum for asking questions and getting support.
This is also where I am regularly posting about my food and exercise during the week as well as uploading pics of the yummy dinners and healthy mummy smoothies I’m making from the 28 day diet and exercise plan Along the side of my post are some of my food pictures from the week too from my meals from the week – DELISH!

Speaking of results, I have been really happy with what I have achieved this week by following the Lose Baby Weight 28 day Plan, daily (delicious!) healthy mummy smoothie for lunch and regular exercise. I have lost another 8cm off my waist and 1.5kilos! My stats are as follows:

  • Weight: 74kg (-1.5)
  • Bust: 94cm (-2)
  • Waist: 82cm (-8)
  • Hips: 94cm (-2.5)
  • Thighs: 62.5
