lose_baby_weightIt’s December already, which means before you know it we’ll be ringing in the New Year.
It’s a bit of a tradition to set yourself some resolutions for the New Year; and what better way to do that than by signing up for the Eat Move Lose Challenge (it’s free and you can sign up here).

As part of the signup process, we ask you to fill in your goals for the challenge.
Those goals could be related to health, weight, wellness, happiness, fitness – anything you like.
It’s so important to be really specific and realistic about what your goal should be.
For instance there needs to be some sort of measurement attached to the goal – it’s not enough to say ‘I want to lose weight’ or ‘I want to be happier’ or ‘I want to get fit’. How will you know when you’ve achieved it?
Today we have pulled together some examples of what your goals might be, depending on where you are at with your weight loss and what motivates you.
Remember – you can include more than one goal, so feel free to pop a few down.

By 31st March 2014:
Weight
  • I want to fit into my favourite jeans again
  • I will start keeping a food diary to make me more accountable
  • I would like to lose 6kg
  • I am going to lose 20cm off my body measurements
Health
  • I will no longer keep soft drink in the house as it’s my weakness
  • I am going to stop using white bread, white rice and white flour in my cooking
  • I am going to try a new recipe every week from the Summer Cookbook
  • I will switch my 2nd coffee for a green tea in the afternoon
Wellness
  • I pledge to join the yoga studio downtown and attend every Wednesday night.
  • I will dedicate 20 minutes each morning before the kids wake up to my meditation CD
  • I will be in bed by 10pm each night
Fitness
  • I will join an indoor netball team
  • I will get up one hour earlier and complete the Healthy Mummy Exercise DVD 3 times per week
  • I will sign up for and train for a half marathon this year
  • I will use my exercise bike for 30 mins each night after the kids go to bed
