Cookies are often full of unhealthy fats, sugar and processed flour, but these cookies are fantastic for you and so easy to make! These are also gluten, dairy, nut and egg free!

Oats are a wholegrain that have a beneficial effect on blood sugar levels, appetite hormones and the digestive system. These cookies are only 64 calories and can help flatten your tummy.
Any berries or nuts can be used instead of the chocolate chips, this recipe is so versatile it will quickly become a regular favourite.

Ingredients

  • 1 med banana, mashed
  • 1 cup gluten free oatmeal (or oats processed in a food-processor until fine)
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tbsp. honey
  • 1 tbsp. raw cacao powder
  • ¼ cup cacao nibs, dark chocolate chips* or dried fruit

Method

  • Preheat oven to 180°C
  • Mix oatmeal, baking powder and cacao together in a bowl until well combined.
  • Add banana and honey and mix well.
  • Stir through chocolate chips or dried fruit
  • Spoon onto baking paper and bake for 10 minutes.
  • Cool on a wire rack.

*For a dairy-free cookie, use dairy-free chocolate chips
