Hi Mums, I have lost 25kgs* with Lose Baby Weight.
Lose Bay Weight-25kg loss

I thought that this piece needed to be focused on how important thought is in how to be healthy and what positive and negative effects it can have.
This month, I am going through a really big change in my mindset and it all has to do with the power of thought and what impact it has had on me and continues to do so.

This month I set myself a goal.  That goal was to run for 30 minutes without stopping.  This may not seem like much to a lot of people, but for me, this is huge.
I used to struggle to run the 100 metres at the school sports days when I was younger.  I have NEVER been a runner and in fact, I had subscribed to that fact.  Nope, not a runner, never have been, never would be.
But, since starting The Healthy Mummy, I have done many of things I didn’t think possible so why not give it a try.
Over the last few months I had slowly been building up my jogging and how long I would go for.  Each time I had surprised myself.  Each time I got better.  So, I set myself the goal of jogging for 30 minutes nonstop by the end of the month.
Would you believe that on the 3rd of November I actually achieved this goal?!  I was ecstatic that I did it and more than that, I did it again and again!
I couldn’t believe that I could consistently jog for 30 minutes – without dying!!  After some careful consideration, I figured out what it was that pushed me over that line – my mind.

Previously, my mind would think “you’ve never been a runner, what makes you think you can run for 30 minutes straight?” Our mind is such a complex thing and can either work for or against us in our lives.
So during this run where my mind would wonder to thoughts of “My legs hurt”, “how much longer is it?”, “I can’t make it” etc. I replaced it with “I can make it further/longer” and I felt a surge of energy.
In fact, my whole posture changed, the way I ran, my breathing, everything.  I initially wanted to get to 25 minutes which was 5 minutes more than my best.  When I got there I just thought “I can do 30 minutes, I definitely can do 30 minutes, watch me” and so I did.
The power of your thoughts can go a long way in both the positive and negative fashion.  Over the past 12 months, I have been able change the way I think.  I no longer crave fatty foods and I continue to tell myself that I don’t like them.
I am telling myself I can do things, things I never before thought I could.  It is such an amazing feeling to know that I can do whatever I put my mind to.  The only thing stopping you getting to your goal is you.
Your mood, attitude and determination are what will set you apart and will get you to where you want to go.

My next mental barrier is on the figures on the scales.  I am approaching my lowest adult weight.  There is something in my head that is telling me because I have never been there, that I can’t get there.
Well, I have never been able to run for 30 minutes now have I? So now I need to use my positive energy and thoughts to move the scales. I need to stop my thoughts blocking me with where I want to go.
So all my thoughts are going to be going into extending my running time (I can run for 40 minutes by the end of this month) and I can get down to less than I have ever been on the scales.  I know this is true and will continue to repeat this as a fact.
Everyone should know that they can achieve anything they want, you truly just need to believe it.
Henry Ford once said “Whether you think you can, or think you can’t, you’re right” and this is so very true.
You can only change what you can control, and only you can control how your thoughts will impact your future.
Adrienne xx
