It’s getting a bit chilly and leaves are starting to turn. Yes it’s autumn, and that means it’s just that bit harder to get motivated to exercise.
It’s just so tempting to eat something warm and yummy and stay snuggled up indoors, which is the beginning of the danger zone for weight gain.
Don’t let the cold or the holidays knock you off your exercise plan.  We have 10 ways to exercise that the whole family will love.
 
10 ways to exercise when it's cold

10 Great ways to keep exercising in the cooler weather that the whole family will enjoy.

  1. Pack up a picnic and head to your local botanical gardens.  There is heaps to do and you could go for a lovely long walk after lunch.
  2. Take your baby out in the pram along your favourite track or one that you’ve been meaning to visit but have never got to.  You could even take the kids or the dog too.
  3. If it’s raining, head to your local indoor swimming pool.  You could even get a few laps in while the kids play.
  4. Get the whole family on their bikes and go for an afternoon bike ride.
  5. Even though it’s cold, get out the house and head to the local park.  The kids will love the fresh air and you could use the equipment to do some exercises.  Watch our video HERE for some examples.
  6. Go for a family bush walk on a nice clear day and get the kids to collect all the beautiful coloured falling leaves.  They could create some craft with them when you’re back at home.
  7. Head out for a walk around the block after dinner.  Take the family with you or even ask a friend to join you for some company.
  8. Take the kids out on their scooters or bikes and jog alongside them……if you can keep up.  They will love it.
  9. If it’s too cold to go outside, crank up the music and have a boogie at home.
  10. Get the whole family together and play a friendly game of touch footy or bullrush.

Whatever you do should be enjoyable and FUN and be able to fit into your daily routine.
